	Options

	Vodafone require two sites to replace the coverage provided by Concourse House as it has not been possible to replicate coverage from one site due to a lack of an individual tall available structure in the vicinity. It is not possible to relocate onto the new redeveloped building, as the new planning permission for the new building does not allow telecommunications structures on the rooftop. Vodafone have considered a range of different options to replace the site at Concourse House, each has been reviewed for feasibility, technical performance and visual impact prior to selecting 45-57 London Road in conjunction with the ABC Cinema as the preferred option. Through this website an innovative virtual reality model allows you to view the proposal for the Cinema. Alternative locations that have been considered but discounted are also listed below.

		Discounted Options
	1	Proposed Rooftop installation upon the St John’s Shopping Centre, Lime Street and Elliot Street. NGR: E: 334868 / N: 390384 MAP The Landlord confirmed they were not willing to allow an installation upon the rooftop of the Shopping Centre. Due to this the option was discounted.

	2	Proposed Telecommunications installation at Lime Street Station, Lime Street NGR: E: 335043 / N: 390482 MAP We approached Lime Street Station with a number of telecommunication installation ideas utilising the exterior fascias of the building so as to provide coverage to the area. Following this investigation and our provision of photomontage detail, the Landlords for the station decided not to progress matters further for an external macro site installation.

	3	Rooftop installation at the Grand Central Student Accommodation Flats, Hilbre Street, NGR: E: 335120 / N: 390432 MAP The Landlords are not willing to progress with an installation upon any of their buildings.

	4	Rooftop installation upon the T.G.W.U (Trade & General Workers Union Building), Islington & Hunter Street. NGR: E: 335080 / N: 390851 MAP This building was looked at for a possible rooftop installation. However due to the low elevation and location of the building, a site here would not have provided the required coverage to the area.

	5	Rooftop installation upon Rail House, Lord Nelson Street. NGR: E: 335137 / N: 390596 MAP We have received verbal confirmation that they would not be willing to consider an installation upon the building. Due to this the option was discounted.

	6	Rooftop installation upon the Holiday Inn, Lime Street NGR: E: 334944 / N: 390422 MAP The Holiday Inn were approached with regard to having an installation upon the rooftop of the hotel however they where not interested in progressing.

	7	Rooftop installation upon the Tesco Metro Building, Clayton Square. NGR: E: 334844 / N: 390327 MAP Following negotiation and discussion with the site provider they decided that they were not willing to progress with an installation at the store.

	8	Rooftop installation upon the Marriot Hotel, Roe Street. NGR E: 334813 / N: 390567 MAP An installation on this building would be in close proximity to Vodafone installation CS 23219, Kingsway House, L3 2AZ , therefore interference would have occurred between the existing site and a development at this location.

	9	Rooftop installation upon the John Lewis Building, Basnett Street NGR: E: 334773 / N: 390358 MAP John Lewis was contacted with regard to a proposed rooftop installation however they declined and were not willing to progress with a proposal.

	10	Site share on existing Streetworks installation, upon London Road NGR: E: 335253 / N: 390707 MAP It is not possible to site share such structures as streetworks installations are not structurally strong enough to take the extra weight of added antenna. This option therefore could not be progressed.

	11	Rooftop installation upon the Britannia Adelphi Hotel, Ranelagh Place NGR: E: 335129 / N: 390299 MAP The hotel was approached and asked if they would be willing to enter into negotiation regarding a telecommunications installation however they declined to progress.

	12	Additional equipment on Club 51, Mount Pleasant Building Rooftop, Brownlow Hill NGR: E: 335175 / N: 390232 MAP This is the adjoining Vodafone 3G cell site 13059. We looked into installing additional equipment on the rooftop. Unfortunately the Adelphi Hotel was in the direct line of sight of the Club 51 building. As such a signal from this building would not provide the coverage into the area too be affected when the Concourse House site is removed.

	13	Rooftop installation upon the Head Post Office Building, Royal Mail Street NGR: E: 335251 / N: 390405 MAP The Royal Mail was approached with regard to an installation however they are not willing to accommodate telecommunications equipment on their land or property.

	14	Co-Location on the rooftop of Worlds Apart Comic Book Store, 58 – 66 Lime Street NGR: E: 335008 / N: 390350 MAP We looked at Co- Locating on this building, currently on the building there are two operators H3G and O2. Unfortunately their installations take up all the available space upon the rooftop of the building. Due to this there is no available space for another operator and the option was discounted.

	15	Rooftop installation upon the Royal Court Theatre, Roe Street NGR: E: 334863 / N: 390514 MAP The Theatre was approached regarding Vodafone’s request to install telecommunications equipment upon the rooftop. The owners of the building declined to enter into negotiation.

	16	Rooftop installation on the Odeon Picture House, Pudsey Street NGR: E: 335126 / N: 390665 MAP The Owners of the Odeon Cinema declined and said they would not be interested in having an installation.

	17	Installation upon the Mersey Travel Information Centre Tower, Roe Street NGR: E: 334770 / N: 390487 MAP The Tower is part of the same complex as the St John’s Shopping Centre and has the same Landlord who have declined our offer for a telecommunications installation.

	18	Rooftop installation upon the Gladstone Hotel, Lord Nelson Street NGR: E: 335211 / N: 390589 MAP The hotel Landlords did not want an installation on the rooftop.

	19	Rooftop installation upon the Lime Street Chambers Building, Lime Street NGR: E: 335032 / N: 390595 MAP Liverpool John Moores University own this building who currently have in place a no telecommunications policy on their buildings.

	20	Rooftop installation upon the Liverpool John Moors University Building, Norton Street NGR: E: 335291 / N: 390828 MAP Again John Moors University do not allow telecommunications equipment upon their buildings and as such the option was discounted.

	21	Site Share upon the National Grid Wireless Site, Dale Street NGR: E: 334408 / N: 390643 MAP Where possible we are asked to look at Site Share possibilities. The industry database was looked at in relation to this location but it has been confirmed that it is not possible to further develop this site to include our proposed equipment.

	22	Site Share upon the National Grid Wireless Site, Islington Road NGR: E: 335299 / N: 390886 MAP Again the industry database confirmed that this site was not possible to site share. Due to this the site was discounted.
